Ancient Indus River Valley Civilization  
Unit Time Frame: 1.5 weeks


Unit Overview: 
The student will examine the government system, 
economy, geographic location, and culture of the 
Ancient Indus River Valley Civilization. This unit 
will focus on eastern religions, philosophies, 
and contributions.

Famous individuals and their achievements.
--Religions and philosophies
--Contributions to Society

Main events and key locations in the 
Ancient Indus River Valley.

Key Concepts:
Examine and investigate the evolution of the   
Ancient Indus River Valley Civilization (the rise and fall.)
Illustrate how geographic locations and 
physical features such as the Ganges River was 
the life-force for this civilization.
Compare and contrast Buddhism and Hinduism.
